It all depends on what you use for a measuring stick. Of course, they're a whole lot more expensive than $29, but if money is no object, these are one of the finest SSL emulations currently on the market. The compressor became well known as a great mix buss compressor & was used on countless hit records by famous engineers. It’s a solid state analog vca based design. It’s also known as SSL buss compressor, 4000 compressor and the fx g384. Plugin Alliance just released their reworked bx_console SSL 4000 emulations, and they are outstanding.
